Finally, I have finished it. I didn't think it would take this long (and it wasn't supposed to) but I was busy with other projects and...well...gah, that's just how it is ;) I'm very pleased with how this painting came out, but there are still a few things I might work on a bit later.
Enjoy!:)

Octopus and Candy
Here's something I recently started...I'll talk more about it later, once I've finished it. These photos are of the initial sketch plus some early watercolor and inking.

Twitter and Another Owl
First off, thanks to all the peeps that have started following me on Twitter...and to the ones that unfollow, you'll be OK (for now, until I find out where you live). I've added a counter on the side, that I, so lucky for me and my absolutely free schedule >_> , get to manually update at TwitterCounter. I figure it's just another gadget to bedazzle my utterly barren little blog, but ya know, it's like a new toy to fool with;)
Now, on to the grand finale...the new painting. This little illustration is part 2 of my horned owl series, and it's obviously a barn owl (what? you don't have a degree in ornithology?)...I adore their big heart-shaped faces and dark eyes. I'm really enjoying mixing the watercolor and acrylic paints to give me just the right consistency. I feel like I have a whole lot more flexibility with it, and hope to be moving on to some bigger pieces soon. I also have some larger watercolor paper and more illustration markers on the way (hooray) so get ready for a butt-load of more art:)

New Horned something or other... Art
Before I start....ehem...Everyone should take notice of the beautiful and fantabulous Facebook like box I have added (and all by myself, too!) to the blog.
Moving on...ehehe
This little painting / illustration is part 1 of a series of 4. All of the paintings will be owls with horns (I need a pair of horns for myself, obviously) yet have a more natural appearance about them. This one is pretty small...about 4.5" x 6" (hope that's accurate). Yesterday was supposed to be the official finish-it-up-and-show-the-world day for this illustration, so this morning I determined that is was the pure lack of a schedule to blame, or maybe laziness and Sunday blues were the raisons d'ĂȘtre for not uploading. Oh well...I suppose it's better late than never.
Anyway, here it is, the horned owl painting number 1. I started with a rough sketch, then painted in the watercolor (no acrylic this time) and later inked in all of the details. For some reason it's lookin' like a large piece of art...maybe I should have put a Swiss army knife next to it??
Enjoy:)

Banshee Fantasy Art
So of course I have some new fantasy art for all my lovelies. Currently, making videos of most of my recent illustrations has been quite irritating, and I may stop doing that for a while due to the restraints it puts on my need to move about the room. As for the newer illustrations, I've been receiving some great feedback and response back in the real world, and plan to continue in this direction and vein of work.
OK, now for the art. Obviously, as the title suggests, this fantasy doodle is of a banshee. For those of you who don't know, a banshee is the ghost or spirit of a woman who basically screams at you to warn you of your death. Sounds pleasant enough, right? It's not bad enough that you're going to die soon, but just in case you really aren't, I'm sure having a ghost sneak up on you and scream will surely do the trick.
This piece was painted with a mixture of acrylic and watercolor paint, and on top of that there is a whole-lotta pen and ink work.

Ibex Illustration
I guess I'm just really getting into this style....finally. Sometimes I think that I have no idea what direction I want to go in, but with everything starting to move at least in some direction, I'll just be going with the flow for a while. Soooo, being the animal-loving geek that I am, I saw a few of these guys on the tube, scaling the highest precipice and attempting to fling one another from the edge...I am talking about the ibexes (that's getting a bit wordy now). They kind of, no directly, inspired me to do this painting, because for whatever reason I might have a slight obsession with horned beasts. So here it is, in watercolor and ink. Enjoy.
